Entrepreneurs need to have courage, self-confidence and ability to take risks in order to be successful. However at the beginning of entrepreneur journey, most Entrepreneurs face different difficulties. Some are lack of self-confidence, some are lack of strength to face the challenges. Among all, fear is one of the obstacles for Entrepreneurs that keeps them away from success.
If you are a new Entrepreneur and suffer with fear, don’t worry. You are not alone.
Everyone I have ever talked to that is an entrepreneur has had to come face to face with their fears. I experienced it as well. I want to share with you some of the techniques that I used to face the fear as a beginner of entrepreneur journey.
Fear is such a huge issue preventing people from becoming entrepreneurs. I have heard that from many entrepreneurs during our entrepreneur interviews.
How to Face Your Fears ?
The first step is not to be in rejection. You have fears even if you don’t readily acknowledge them. They sometimes take the form of that chatter in the back of your head that says you can’t do it.

Here are some of the techniques I have used as I learned them from the entrepreneurs I know and during our conversations with entrepreneurs when we interview them.
- Think about what you want.
When you find yourself spinning the wheels in your mind over and again about your worst case scenario, turn it around and focus on what you DO want. Visualize yourself getting what you really want. See the new house. See yourself talking to the interested person as they become a part of your business. You get what you focus on.
- Read more and learn how to overcome challenges
Have a personal development library. I draw incredible support from my library. It is not just filled with how to resources, but also stories of others who dominated their fears.
- Change the voice.
When you hear yourself telling you that you’re not good enough or you are not strong enough, you’re going to fail. Just change the voice from yours to a strong voice that is not fear at all.
- Go ahead and do it.
Don’t afraid. Go ahead and do it. Sometimes just making the smallest step will help get you going enough that the fear of not doing something can go away. An example would be neglecting to write an article such as this one out of fear of failure. Just starting it can create enough momentum to see it through. Finally it is a piece of article that can share more tips for entrepreneurs who struggles at the beginner stage.
- Visualize the result
Dream you as a successful entrepreneur. See how you improve your number of sales. But make sure to take the action to reach the goal. There is a difference here for the entrepreneur from visualizing to take actions. Of course you want the result, but maybe that’s not in your direct control. Visualize the result in your mind, but make your goal the consistent and persistent action of the entrepreneur. The action will eventually produce the result and you can certainly achieve that goal. You will be a successful entrepreneur in a really short period of time!
- Voice them to a trusted friend
Hopefully you have been able to find some level of support from at least one other entrepreneur. Ideally, you have a significant other that supports you. If not, then you should have some kind of support network from your team, upline, or corporate that you can talk to. Some people may tell you that it is silly you could even believe that you’re not good enough. But having support from a friend or mentor is really helpful to overcome the fear of failure. However, don’t go looking for support to all those people who doubted you and told you it was crazy to go out on your own. They will never understand you or the situation of an entrepreneur.
- Don’t quit
Finally, don’t quit. If you check our interviews with entrepreneurs, they all advice this. They all say never ever quit.
Yes, never, ever quit. If you quit, you cease to be an entrepreneur – otherwise you’re not failed, you are moving ahead!
