1. Hello! Can you please tell us about FARM Florist?
FARM Florist believes in providing customers with the flexibility to choose what type of flower, what style, and any design they want! We provide bouquets at affordable prices, with express delivery, and we also have surprise bouquets for customers who are clueless about what to request for. Apart from flowers, we also have a wide range of hampers, stuffed toys, balloons and many more.
2. Why did you decide to launch FARM Florist? What inspired you?
We had been in the field for over 20 years as florists, but it saddened us each time we had to turn away customers because we didn’t have the capacity to do the designs they wanted, or they could not afford the bouquets we had. We believe flowers should be accessible to everyone — so they can brighten up your day! After considering for a while, we decided to start out on our own since we already had the skills and experience, and we wanted to call the shots.
3. With other flower delivery services available in Singapore, what makes FARM Florist unique?
Our customisable surprise bouquets take some stress off the customer. Some customers are very clueless when it comes to flowers. We used to have customers telling us “just give me a nice bouquet”, which is very subjective and difficult for us because there was no direction. So, usually we had to depend mainly on things like favourite colour, favourite flower etc. That’s why we decided to have the Surprise Bouquet and other products because it gives us more useful information before we create the product for the customer. All they have to do is just tell us the occasion and details about the recipient and we will curate a bouquet. We also have express florist delivery, as a lifesaver option in case customers have forgotten a special date!
4. How do you think FARM Florist is helpful for its customers?
FARM Florist provides a lot of convenience and flexibility to customers, regardless of whether they know what they want. As our mission is to make flower bouquets in Singapore accessible to all, we wanted to make it easier for people to decide what best suited their needs.
5. Did you face any difficulties or challenges when you decide to launch FARM Florist?
It was difficult to find the right supplier for flowers at first, because we didn’t just want fresh flowers, we wanted ethically sourced ones that were taken care of with love. Once we found the perfect supplier, we had to show people why we were as good/better than other big names out there, and why they should give us a chance!
6. Do you have any advice for emerging entrepreneurs?
Nothing you do is meaningless, take the experiences you have and what you’ve learnt and put them into practice. Everything is a good learning point as long as you have the right mindset.
